In the thirty-fourth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1555), the ancient temple was destroyed by an earthquake and was rebuilt immediately.

Pujiu Temple has a magical ancient pagoda called stupa. The stupa is square in plane, 50 meters high, with 13 steps and small eaves, which still exists in the Tang Dynasty.
