The repertoire of yangko in Qixian county

Since 1950s, Qixian Cultural Center has devoted itself to the excavation and arrangement of Yangko Opera, and has copied 347 plays. Because most of the original dramas are handed down by word of mouth, or because of dialect errors, or because of sound transmission theory, some of them can hardly distinguish the meaning of words. There are 269 revised scripts. It is divided into four categories: ditty, gossip, song and dance, and opera, among which ditty and gossip will be recorded in another section. Most songs and dances have no storyline, but are improvised, that is, people make up a comparison, and every paragraph enters the door and sings along with the dance movements. The repertoires include: picking tea, (A, B), picking lotus, matching flowers, kicking the ball, selling tea, looking at pictures, writing crosses, embroidering pockets, ten fans, ten pains, embroidering lanterns and making noise. Playing dates, watching flowers, visiting gardens, playing flower drums, grand lanterns, herding cattle, rolling curtains, visiting the provincial capital, watching yangko, never meeting each other, going to the grave, going to the market in northern Hebei, and shopping carts in March and June, etc.

There are relatively complete storylines belonging to China traditional operas, most of which reflect the family chores, farming activities or folklore of the local Han working people. The repertoires include: picking curtains, going down the mountain, carrying water, nailing a jar, witches, persuading women, fighting for a house, persuading wives, four secrets, steaming cakes, cutting fields, watching meetings, striking the iron, and making streets. Funeral, grave robbery, pot nailing, fan grave, red brick, daughter-in-law, top brick, poor matching, garden watering, silk tea, changing clothes, mulberry picking, lake swimming and kiln burning. Visit the river, sell rouge, steal snacks, carry a bench, visit the gate, go down to Henan, persuade my husband, kick a silver lantern, sell Aidi flowers, watch the lamp shed, sell firewood, swim the city wall and pull out the jade top. Beat the ice, blame melon seeds, persuade to quit smoking, change flowers in time, send ten schools, double escape, wander the gods, sell burnt earth, eat wax, match with ingenuity, break materials, go to Beijing, pick cotton, file an case, illegally report, Jinyuyuan, evil family, embroidered shoes, big food boxes, squeeze garlic moss, kill children, pick eggplant, cut leeks, and change flowers. Wang Xiaoer chopped wood, Zhang Gongzi went home, took long-term jobs to recruit wives, caught feet, borrowed clothes in the morning, beat the mother of adults and children, and Zhang Sijie came down to earth. Three children begged wives, and five bald children made wedding rooms, fearing that their wives would hit pillows.

The Yangko Research and Reform Society has eliminated the dross in traditional dramas and edited more than 30 songs, such as Visiting the Prison, Listening to the New House, Patching the Cool Socks, Holding the Belly, Buckling the Wheat Field, Picking the Wheat Roots, Removing the Godhead, Calling Sister-in-law, and Cutting the Size of Vegetables.
