Superstition refers to human's worship and belief in supernatural power, which is an illusory and distorted response to the objective world. It is in the case of low productivity and underdeveloped technology that people can't explain many natural phenomena for the time being, so they think that there are "gods", "buddhas" and "ghosts and gods" who dominate people's destiny outside the world. On this basis, there are two kinds of people's misconceptions which are manifestations of ignorance and backwardness.

For example, some people who call themselves Buddhists often burn incense and kowtow, pray to the Buddha, and even go to temples to fast and recite Buddhist language, thinking that they can get the induction of Buddhists and Bodhisattvas and bless their wishes. Such people are superstitious. In the long historical process, the word feudalism has changed its original meaning after the baptism of the May 4th Movement. The May 4th Movement attacked the traditional feudal society and feudal system and regarded some primitive cultures formed in feudal society as dross. The five numerology techniques are just included.

China's feudal superstitions mainly include sending immortals, exorcising ghosts to cure diseases, fortune telling, physiognomy and geomantic omen. Feudal superstition does not have the characteristics of the above religions, so it is not a religion. Feudal superstitions fool the masses, defraud money, corrode people's thoughts, corrupt social atmosphere, endanger social order and affect the construction of socialist material civilization and spiritual civilization, and must be resolutely stopped.
