Jing 'an County is located in the northwest of Jiangxi Province and the northeast of Yichun City. Geographical coordinates are 28 46'-29 06' north latitude and114 55'-115 32' east longitude. Anyi County in the east, Fengxin County in the south, xiushui county in the west and Wuning and Yongxiu counties in the north; Shuangxi Town, the county seat, is 80 kilometers away from Nanchang, the provincial capital. Jiulingjian, the highest peak in the county, is 1794.3 meters above sea level, and the lowest elevation is 47 meters. The main rivers are two tributaries of Beiliao River-Nanhe River and Beihe River. It has a subtropical monsoon climate, with an annual average temperature of 17℃ and an annual average rainfall of1653.2mm. It is one of the key forestry counties in Jiangxi Province and one of the national demonstration forest parks.

Underground mineral deposits include tungsten, cobalt, tin, molybdenum, porcelain clay and timing. The highway from Wanjiabu to Huangshagang passes through the county.
