Where is Xinjin Kannonji?

Xinjin Kannonji is a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Cannongji is located in Baoqiao Village, Shang Yong Town, Xinjin County, Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Founded in the eighth year of Xichun in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 18 1), it was destroyed at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and rebuilt in the third year of Hongzhi in the Ming Dynasty (1490). There are Pilu Hall (mural hall) and Guanyin Hall (statue hall) in Ming Dynasty and Shanmen Hall, Maitreya Hall and Jieyin Hall in Qing Dynasty, with a building area of1180m2.

Pilu Temple was built in the sixth year of tomorrow (1426). It is three rooms wide, resting on the top of the mountain, with a single eaves and a folded roof, showing the stable and simple style of Ming architecture. There are six murals on the two walls of the temple, painted in the fourth year of Ming Chenghua (1468). Guanyin store was built in the second year of Ming Chenghua (1466). The South China Sea Guanyin statue in the temple is known as "Venus of the East".

In June, 20001year, Kannonji was announced by the State Council as the fifth batch of national key cultural relics protection units.

State-level cultural protection units are famous for their murals and statues in the Ming Dynasty.

Introduction of scenic spots

Cannongji, 7 kilometers southwest of Xinjin County, is a national cultural relic unit, famous for its murals in the Ming Dynasty. There are two main halls in the temple, Bixu Hall and Guanyin Hall. The Yunxu Temple was built in the sixth year of tomorrow (A.D. 1426). There are six murals on two walls in the temple, which were painted in the fourth year of Ming Chenghua (A.D. 1468). Guanyin Store was built in the second year of Chenghua in Ming Dynasty (AD 1466). The Nanhai Guanyin statue in the hall is lifelike.

Pilu Hall was built in the sixth year of tomorrow, and there are twelve Yuanjue Bodhisattvas and Xiangshan Hall behind the Buddhist niches painted in the fourth year of Chenghua on the left and right walls. The painting method adopts Chinese traditional meticulous painting techniques, with natural minerals as pigments, azurite, azurite, cinnabar, Huang Dan, raw lacquer, Buddha gold and pearl powder.

Kannonji was built in the fifth year of Ming Chenghua. Manjusri, Pu Xian and Guanyin statues were carved in the 11th year of Ming Chenghua. Bodhisattvas are all wearing crowns and garlands, with plump cheeks and dignified demeanor. There are 46 arhats in wooden niches on both sides, with different shapes and full of rich life breath.

There is also a statue of Guanyin floating on the sea in the temple, which is a huge deep relief image. "Gone with the Wind" Guanyin stepped out of the fish in the stormy waves, with panoramic views of Mount Emei in Sichuan, Mount Putuo in Zhejiang and Mount Wutai in Shanxi on the back. All Buddhist disciples are scattered around Guanyin, the gone with the wind.
