In the ninth episode of The Journey to the West's sequel "Begging for Rain in Fengxian County", after years of drought in Fengxian County, Wukong went to the Lingxiao Hall to ask the Jade Emperor for rain at the request of the county king.

The Jade Emperor refused because King Fengxian had committed three crimes. In the fragrant hall, the Jade Emperor let chickens peck at Mi Mountain, dogs lick the mountain, hang gold locks and burn them with lights.

It won't rain until the dog licks the face of the chicken and breaks the lock.

Later in the play, the Jade Emperor learned the cause and effect and forgave him.
