Hou's life experience

Hou surname is a multi-source surname with four sources, as follows:

1, with title as surname, from Ji surname. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the Duke of Jin was destroyed by Duke Wu of Jin, and later people fled to other countries, taking the original title "Hou" as their surname.

2, take the fief as the surname, from the surname. Our descendants were sealed in Hou, and their descendants took Hou as their surname.

3. After Hou Xuanduo and Hou Yu, he was a doctor of Zheng in the Spring and Autumn Period.

4. Start with changing your surname. During the Northern and Southern Dynasties, there were multiple surnames such as Hou Nu and Hou Fu in the Northern Wei Dynasty. After entering the Central Plains, the area was changed to a single surname "Hou".

The origin of Hou Shi

1. The historian of the Yellow Emperor, the founder of Chinese characters, surnamed Hou. His descendants have a family in Fengyiya County (now Baishui, Shaanxi Province), and Jane is Hou Shi.

2. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Zhao Hou of the Jin Dynasty (now Yicheng, Shanxi Province) enfeoffed his uncle as Taifu Quwo, which caused a split situation, and later spread to the Jin Dynasty. In 678 BC, he was killed by Duke Wu of Quwo (that is, Duke Wu of Jin), and his descendants fled to other countries, taking the original title "Hou" of their ancestors as their surname.

3. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Duan Shu, his younger brother, rebelled and was cut down, and fled to Huixian County, Henan Province. After his death, Duke Zhuang waited on his son.

Although the surname Hou originated from many branches, it mainly propagated in Henan and Shandong in the early days. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, in the central and western regions of Hebei Province, there were already people named Hou living there, and they soon became local rich households. During the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, some Hou surnames migrated to Guizhou, Sichuan, Guangdong, Inner Mongolia, Liaoning and other places.
