Generally speaking, when you read the Book of Changes, you are about 50 years old and have rich life experience, which means that you have reached the fifth level and probably know the overall situation. It's too late to watch when you're old. You have reached the sixth grade, and you have no chance to read it. You are ready to go out. Confucius learned the Book of Changes in his fifties. What he needs is to reduce mistakes. Why can the Book of Changes reduce his mistakes? We often talk about the self-improvement of the Book of Changes, which is based on morality. We should "punish grievances" and gradually resolve all kinds of negative characteristics, desires and emotions, that is, improve our own virtue, think for others and establish an ideal society. Confucius got some inspiration here. There is no direct quotation from the Book of Changes in Mencius, but Mencius emphasizes one word, that is, "time", and everything depends on the opportunity. In particular, he said that Confucius is the sage who pays the most attention to timing, and he should learn from Confucius, because everything has a time. The timing is wrong, get twice the result with half the effort; If the time is right, how comfortable it will be to push the boat with the tide. This is for Confucianism. Confucius killed Shao Zhengmao: a gentleman cultivates himself by fruit, and another is Xunzi. He said, "Those who are good and easy don't take it." People who really understand the Book of Changes are unwilling to divine. Why don't you want to do divination? Because the Book of Changes is in line with rational thinking. Because divination means that you are really faced with something difficult to solve, and you are really confused, so you go to divination. However, we still have to say that life is really confusing. Many times, with the help of the Book of Changes, you must remember two functions: on the one hand, its meaning. When you learn it, you will know the truth of being a man and doing things. Which hexagrams we mentioned are in trouble, and how you should face them and gain wisdom. Which hexagrams represent auspiciousness and why? You should master its principle and practice hard, and you will naturally achieve that effect. This is the right side. On the other hand, divination. There are at least four aspects in studying the Book of Changes in ancient times. If you value words, you will admire their words. There are many idioms in the Book of Changes. If you get a lot of inspiration from the Book of Changes, you will feel very elegant when using idioms. Concise, concise, and complete in meaning. This is the first kind, pay attention to words. The second value action. Some people attach importance to action, and they will praise the changes in the Book of Changes. There are 1 1520 hexagrams in the first and second chapters of the Book of Changes, which is equivalent to the number of all things. Therefore, it takes four operations to form a Book of Changes and eighteen changes to complete a six-hexagram. After divination, how to interpret it? There are many ways to interpret divination. In Song Dynasty, Zhu compiled a set of divination principles for reference (see appendix at the end of this chapter). When you interpret hexagrams, you will find that some hexagrams are dynamic, sometimes called changes, and will become new hexagrams. The current situation is this six-pointed star.
