Where is the Lotus Temple in Suzhou?

Suzhou Lotus Temple is a cultural tourist attraction.

Lotus Temple is located at the western end of Jinshi Street in the west of Tongan Town, Suzhou High-tech Zone. Built in the second year of Tang Shenlong (706), it has a history of 1300 years. At the beginning, the Lotus Temple was very large, and it was said that there were as many as 5,048 buildings in the temple. The Ming Dynasty article "Rebuilding the Lotus Temple Buddha Hall" said: "Maoyuan West, the name of the town, has a temple named Lotus Temple, named after Liu in the early dynasty."

After several dynasties, Ren Geji was repaired many times and fell into disrepair after the late Qing Dynasty. It was destroyed in the 1970s, leaving only two big ginkgo trees in front of the door.

In 2003, with the care and support of the District Religious Affairs Bureau and the District Buddhist Association, the Millennium Temple reappeared. In June 2006, the construction of the Daxiong Hall was completed, and the existing buildings of the whole Buddha Hall, Rengeji, Tianwang Hall, Daxiong Hall, Guanyin Hall, Dizang Hall, wing room and Zhaitang were transformed.
