There are two main sources of Joe's. One is from the surname Ji. After the death of the Yellow Emperor, he was buried in Qiaoshan Mountain. The Yellow Emperor supported his descendants to guard the mausoleum, so he took the bridge as his surname. In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, Qiao Qin was a vassal of Yu Wentai, the prime minister of the Western Wei Dynasty. Yu Wentai named him "Joe" and took the lofty meaning of the word "Joe", so all Qiao's in the world were called Qiao's. The second is to change the surname from other ethnic groups. During the Qin and Han Dynasties, Xiongnu also had Qiao's family.

Early activities in Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia, Hebei, Henan and other places. Qiao Ji: Yuan Sanqu writer, born in Taiyuan (now Shanxi), later lived in Hangzhou (now Zhejiang). His Sanqu is beautiful in style, but mostly negative and decadent in content. People in Ming and Qing Dynasties often referred to him and Zhang Kejiu as two Yuan Sanqu.

Qiao Yu, a famous minister in Ming Dynasty, was born in Leping (now Xiyang, Shanxi Province), and he was also called "three outstanding men in Jinzhong" with Wang Yunfeng in Liaozhou and Wang Qiong in Taiyuan, and "three phoenixes in Hedong". In the twentieth year of Chenghua (1484), he was a scholar, assistant minister of the relevant department, worshipped the history of the Nanjing Ministry of Rites, and later changed to the history of the Ministry of War as a maintenance counselor. Sejong ascended the throne and was called an official. He was forced to leave his post, returned to his hometown and died in Zhuang Jian.

Joe: Shangshu of the Ming Dynasty was born in Luoyang (now Henan).

In the same year, he became Minister of Shandong. 1845 was promoted to governor of Guizhou.
