Breeding and cultivation:

High-quality strong seedlings with a stem height of more than 3.6 cm, no plant diseases and insect pests and no mechanical damage are selected as stem cuttings. Before a large number of fallen leaves germinate in Yang Miao, they should be cut off from the ground, leaving no high piles, and the section should be smooth and flat. The selected high-quality stem cuttings should be trimmed and graded according to the grade difference of stem diameter of 0.5 cm. Then bundle every 20 or 30 plants and soak them in the river or pond for 3-7 days. Land with groundwater level between 1.5-3 meters and sandy soil and light sandy soil should be selected for planting. Generally, from February to early March, 60-80 cm deep holes are drilled for planting. In order to ensure the close combination of seedling trunk and soil, the hole can be filled with dilute mud or direct water before insertion, then the seedling trunk is inserted, shaken a few times, and the soil is shoveled nearby to fix the hole firmly.

In the past 32 years, the introduction and promotion of poplars in Siyang county has been in the forefront of the country, and large-scale afforestation and intensive management have been in the leading position in the country.
