What is Buddha nature?

Buddha means consciousness, sex, and invariability. Some classics of Mahayana Buddhism believe that all sentient beings have Buddha nature, that is, all sentient beings have the possibility of becoming Buddhas. The word Buddha nature has different connotations in different situations. According to Nirvana Sutra, there are generally three reasons for Buddha's nature:

1, because of the Buddha's nature, that is, the truth of the middle way, the truth is the rationality of the law;

2. Because of Buddha's nature, that is, Yier's true cosmic wisdom;

3. The reason is Buddhism, which is in line with the six-degree merit wish of developing one's career with wisdom.

Buddha's nature is the cause, and becoming a Buddha is the fruit. Only with these three causes can we become a Buddha. There are three theories of Buddha nature:

1, self-living Buddha, as it is, self-living eternal life, unchanged, all beings have this principle;

2. Derive Buddha nature, practice according to meditation wisdom, and derive from the gradual emergence of Buddha nature;

3. Reach the Buddha's nature, and practice is completed. By the time you become a Buddha, the original Buddha's nature is completely revealed.

Faxiangzong said two kinds of Buddha nature, namely:

1, the principle of Buddhism, all the truth of ontology.

2, Buddha nature, including the reasons for becoming a Buddha hidden in everyone's knowledge of Araya. Those who have Buddha nature without Buddha nature may not become Buddhas. He also established the theory of five castes, that is, three fixed surnames, indefinite surnames and no surnames can never become Buddhas, which is derived from bodhisattvas, voices and enlightenment. Those who advocate that only bodhisattvas can have their surnames, but not their surnames, all have the nature of practicing Buddhism.

Although Zen says that it has realized the true nature of all beings, it denies whether there is a Buddha's nature in obsession, so there is a situation like' the Buddha's nature of dogs'. Pure Land Sect acknowledged the theory of Buddhism, but some people denied it. Japan's Pure Land Sect Shinrikyo advocates that Buddhism is based on the original will of Amitabha, saying that the belief given by Tathagata to all beings is the same as that of Buddha, which is called the theory of believing in Buddha.
