Zixiao Palace is located at the foot of Zhanqi Peak in Wudang Mountain. It is the largest and most well-preserved palace in Wudang Mountain, and it is also the main place for Taoist activities in Wudang Mountain. Inside the palace gate are the main hall, the parents' hall, the East Palace and the West Palace. There is a "turtle spring" behind the palace. Spring water flows from the mouth of a stone turtle, which is warm in winter and cool in summer. The palace was built in the 11th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty (14 13), with a building area of 10000 square meters. Large-scale, surrounded by mountains, deep pine forests and cypresses, elegant environment and pleasant climate, it has always been known as "the blessed land of Ziyun".

Zixiao Palace was built in Song Xuanhe. According to documents, Zhao Ji of Song Huizong once dreamed of Vulcan, and an alchemist had a dream for him, saying that he would send a water god to the south to crush towns, so that he could be carefree. So I chose Wudang Mountain, one of the 72 blessed places, and built this palace for Xuanwu, the water god, under the peak of the war flag, and awarded it to the "Zixiaoyuan Holy Palace". At the end of the Song Dynasty, the nomads from the Golden Army went south, and the sacred palace of Zixiaoyuan was painted with charcoal. At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, the ancestor Kublai Khan used religion to stabilize people's hearts, sent officials to seal it, restored Taoism, and rebuilt Zixiao Palace again, making it a "national prayer hall". At the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, after Judy ascended the throne, she ordered Wudang to be built in the world. After the completion of Zixiao Palace, it was named "the Great Sage Zixiao Palace".

Zixiao Temple is the only existing temple in Wudang Mountain with double eaves and rest wood structure. It is one of the few ancient Taoist buildings in China with large wooden structures with hanging beams. Taking advantage of its terrain differences, it is built on a three-story platform, which is more magnificent.

Because Zixiao Palace is a special place for Wudang Taoism to pray for the royal family, the whole hall is carved with beams and painted buildings, with simple and elegant decoration and solemn and elegant furnishings. Many gods and immortals worshipped by Taoism are enshrined in the main hall, which, together with sacred cases, sacrificial vessels and utensils, constitutes a mysterious immortal world.
