The famous temples in Suzhou are: Saiweng Temple, Hanshan Temple and Lingyanshan Temple.
Saionji, alias Zhuangjie Fahui Temple, is located at Xiyuan Lane 18, Wailiuyuan Road, Nagato, Suzhou, Jiangsu, with Liuyuan in the east, Hanshan Ancient Temple in the west, Tiger Hill Scenic Area in the north and Nagato Canal in the south.
Cylons were founded in the first year from Yuan Dynasty to Zhengzheng (1264- 1294), with a history of 700 years. The existing buildings were rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty. The 500 Arhat Hall in the temple is one of the four Arhat Halls in China, which was announced by the People's Government of Jiangsu Province as a cultural relic protection unit in Jiangsu Province in 1982.
Hanshan Temple, located in gusu district, Suzhou, was founded in the period of Liang Xiao and Tian Jian in the Southern Dynasties (502 ~ 5 19), formerly known as "Miaoli Pingta". Hanshan Temple covers an area of about10.3 million square meters, with a construction area of more than 3,400 square meters.
Hanshan Temple belongs to Lin Ji School of Zen. During the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty, Hanshan Temple was founded by two eminent monks, Hanshan and Xiqian. During the period of 1000, Hanshan Temple was destroyed by fire for five times (seven times), and the last reconstruction was in Guangxu period of Qing Dynasty. Hanshan Temple was once one of the top ten famous temples in China in history. There are many historical sites in the temple, including the stone carvings of Zhang Jishi, the stone statues of Hanshan and the inscriptions of Wen Zhiming and Tang Yin.
Lingyanshan Temple is located on the bank of Taihu Lake in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, northwest of Mudu Ancient Town and at the foot of Lingyanshan Mountain. It is known as the "Xiujue Guannan" at an altitude of 220 meters (360 feet). Founded in the Western Jin Dynasty, it is a solemn ancient temple with a history of 1600 years.
Lingyanshan Temple, also known as Chongbao Temple, was named Xiufeng Temple in Liang Dynasty and today in Tang Dynasty. During the Hongzhi period of the Ming Dynasty, temples were destroyed. Reconstruction in Kangxi period of Qing Dynasty. Xianfeng was destroyed by the war again, and the existing temples were mainly rebuilt by Master Yin Guang in 1930s.
