Fuan City is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Ningde City, Fujian Province, located in the northeast of Fujian Province.

Located on the southeast slope of Jiufeng Mountain Range, southwest of Taimu Mountain Range and southeast extension of Donggong Mountain Range; It is adjacent to Zherong County in the east, zhouning county in the west, Shouning County in the north and Ningde City in the south.

The strata in the territory are not fully exposed, the Mesozoic strata are widely distributed, and the Cenozoic strata and the Sinian lower series are only exposed in a small area. The Cenozoic Quaternary Middle Pleistocene Series and the Upper Paleozoic Carboniferous Middle and Lower Series are missing.

Fuan city is located in the Neocathaysian tectonic belt near the Pacific Ocean on the edge of the East Asian continent. Geological structure is formed by the superposition of many tectonic movements, and there are few faults and folds in different periods. The outline of the main structural system is controlled by Neocathaysian structure, east-west structure and north-south structure, and it is distributed in northeast and northeast direction.

Located in the volcanic belt along the southeast coast of China, the rocks are mostly magmatic rocks, mainly composed of Mesozoic late Jurassic and early Cretaceous volcanic rocks, which are Yanshanian intrusive rocks, and the smallest part is Quaternary loose deposits.
