The origin of jinpu

During the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, there was a Taoist priest named Jia Zheng who was proficient in the five elements. He knew: "The plum blossom in the neighboring village belongs to wood, and the deep pool belongs to water. According to the theory that the five elements interact with each other, water will make plum blossom more prosperous, but it is not good for hometown. But I can't bear to turn water into fire, and I'm afraid of hurting the way of good neighborliness. Then change "Shen Pu" to "Jin Pu". In this way, gold, water (Pu) and wood (Mei) bring out the best in each other, and the two townships prosper together.

Since then, the official documents of the book have written it as "Golden Shop", but the masses still call it "God Shop" orally.

Jinpu, commonly known as Shenpu, is an ancient village in the suburb of Chaoyang District. According to the Atlas cited in Volume 5343 of Yongle Dadian, at the latest in the early years of Yongle, Chaozhou Prefecture built a house on the south road of the provincial capital, which was named "Shenpupu". According to the Toponymic Records of Chaoyang City, Guangdong Province, "(Jinpu Village) was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty from Baoqing to Ding Jing (1225- 1364). His ancestor Zheng settled here, and was named Shenpu Village because of the low terrain near the river. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty (1736— 1795), the villagers Baoqingfu Zhifu and Zheng George of Yunbing Road in Anxiang, Hubei Province proposed to change their names. "
