Nanton fortune telling _ What does Nanton mean
From chapter 42 of Buddha's theory. The Saman asked the Buddha, "What is the reason for understanding the destiny? The Buddha said, "If you keep your mind clean, you will reach the Tao. For example, grinding a mirror and removing dirt to make it clear is fate. The content of this chapter is mainly to study two problems, one is how to get fate, and at the same time, how to prove the supreme truth in person. As explained earlier, "the shaman asks the Buddha" refers to all monks in general, especially Buddhist monks, that is, Buddhist disciples. One day, a Buddhist disciple asked our master Sakyamuni Buddha. "How do you know your destiny?" ? Karma is a proper term of Buddhism. Karma is the main cause, and karma is the help. It seems that what we see, whether peanuts or beans, is the main cause. However, if the seed is placed on the table, it will not grow. It must be planted in soil, and it needs water, sunlight and air as help. With these favorable conditions, seeds will grow. Buddhism talks about karma, and the most basic truth is here. In layman's terms, karma is relations and conditions. The monk asked Sakyamuni Buddha, "What conditions do we have to know the fate of the past and the future?" Fate is fatalism and one of the six magical powers mentioned in Buddhism. The six magical powers in Buddhism are: opening eyes, ears, feet, happiness, life and leakage. We have already introduced these six magical powers, so I won't repeat them here. "Knowing the supreme way" means understanding, and the supreme way is the supreme holy way and the truth. Then the shaman asked another question: How can we realize the supreme truth? "Buddha's words: If you keep your mind clean, you will reach the Tao." On the question of obtaining supernatural power, Sakyamuni Buddha did not directly answer him, but told the Samana that purity is purity, and heart is mind. If you can purify your mind, don't be polluted by external material desires, but also keep your ambition, ambition and ambition. We should always adhere to the ambition of learning Buddhism and practicing, that is, we should strengthen our faith and not change the original intention of learning Buddhism because of external disturbances. Only by adhering to one's own confidence and practicing Buddhism can one realize the supreme Buddhism, or in other words, can one obtain the pure Buddha nature. Sakyamuni Buddha then said to the shaman who asked questions: You may not have heard this clearly. Let me make an analogy to illustrate! "For example, if you polish a mirror, the dirt will disappear and remain", and the dirt is dirty. Like a Millennium mirror, it is covered with dust and dirty. Now we wipe it from time to time. When the dust of this mirror is wiped clean, its light will appear. We also have a lot of filth in our hearts. What is this? It is the five desires: wealth, sex, fame, food, sleep and many other troubles that blind our hearts. If we can cut off these five desires in the world, at this time, it is like cleaning a dirty mirror, and light will appear. By analogy, we will completely cut off our troubles and selfish desires, and without greed for the outside world, the Buddha's nature will be revealed. Of course, if you are destined, you can get the magical power of fate. We should know that in this world, everyone runs around from morning till night for what purpose, that is, "seeking". We were very happy when we got it. In fact, things are often unsatisfactory. Therefore, we have eight difficulties in life, and there is a saying that "seeking is not bitter." On the other hand, if we don't ask for anything, you have nothing to pursue, and all your desires will be cut off and there will be no troubles. At that time, you can naturally get a fate that you don't need to pursue, and you can know yourself and others, past and future things, and the state of psychological activities. Nowadays, ordinary vagrants talk to fortune tellers as if they don't know the Oracle. Wow! What about your past and future? In fact, he can't figure out his own life, and he can't figure it out. How can it be meaningful to others? It's just a bowl of bibimbap Real destiny can only be achieved through hard practice. Sakyamuni Buddha does not encourage disciples to practice in order to obtain magical powers, because with magical powers, they may not be able to "reach the Tao"-experience the supreme holy way (truth), but if they really practice, once they get home, they will "reach the Tao" and naturally have magical powers and know their destiny. Speaking of the metaphor of "grinding a mirror", it suddenly occurred to me that there is a famous Buddhist scripture-the Six Ancestors Tanjing, which records the life stories of the Six Ancestors, and there is also a case-solving, which is quite consistent with this metaphor. Master Huineng is the sixth ancestor, and his master is the fifth ancestor. Master Hong Ren wants to pass on the mantle to his disciples. In order to evaluate their understanding of Buddhism, he asked them to write a poem to show their learning experience. At that time, under the seat of the Five Ancestors, there was a disciple named Shen Xiu, who was recognized as a great man. He wrote a poem: He is like a bodhi tree and his heart is like a mirror. Wipe frequently, and don't create dust. Shen Xiu thinks that we work hard, and this body is like a bodhi tree. This sentence is a foil, mainly the next sentence, "Heart is like a mirror", our heart is like a mirror, the so-called "mirror", but the mirror of this heart will be covered with dust if it is not cleaned. So be sure to wipe it frequently, often, often, "don't get dust." It means that if we want to become a Buddha and be a founder, we must practice hard, meditate every day, that is, wipe the mirror, and then we can become a Buddha by cleaning our troubles. Shen Xiu used this song to express his experience of Buddhism. At that time, there was a man named Huineng, who was originally a woodcutter. Although he can't read, his roots are very high. They all praised him when he heard that everyone was reading the poem. He said to the people around him, "I also have a poem, but I can't write it." Who can help me write it? " So, someone helped him write a poem next to that beautiful poem: Bodhi has no trees, and it is not Taiwan in the mirror. There is nothing, so there is no dust. This realm can be high. He said you were "like a bodhi tree". Actually, Bodhi is not a tree at all. Your body is not a bodhi tree, but a stinking skin! "Heart is like a mirror", there is nothing wrong with the mirror. Where is your heart? There was nothing, so you went there to make dust! Because of this song, the fifth ancestor secretly taught Huineng in the middle of the night, and he became the sixth ancestor. However, on the other hand, Liu Zushi's kung fu is not something that ordinary people can do. Later, in the history of Buddhism in China, or in the Zen case-solving, this anecdote was named "Southampton Spread to the North". The South refers to Master Huineng, a Cantonese, who promotes Zen in the South. Therefore, meditation in the south is a method of "epiphany" with high roots and realm. With the gradual spread of the North, Master Shen Xiu is the core figure of Zen in the North, and his meditation method is gradually practiced step by step. Are you here to learn from Master Huineng of the Sixth Ancestor or Master Shen Xiu? I think, our roots are not so superb, and it is impossible to reach the sky in one step. It is better to follow the scripture, "like grinding a mirror, removing its dirt and making it clear", or follow the master of magic performance, "always wipe it, don't make dust", and start from the initial basic kung fu in a down-to-earth manner. As for how to wipe away the dust (worry) of the soul? Whether it is chanting Buddha, holding a spell, chanting or worshiping Buddha, it can be used as the starting point for wiping.
