Zhang Qingyuan: 1923 was a Chinese teacher in Chongqing middle school, and was promoted to the position of director of the Central Fine Arts Department the following year.

Chongqing Middle School, now called Chongyi Middle School, is located in Xiaodong Street, chongzhou city.

Chongzhou city used to be called "Chongqing County", hence the name of the school. 1994, Chongqing was renamed as "Chongzhou", but the school name has not changed.

It used to be a complete middle school (with a high school and a junior high school), but now the junior high school has been set aside to set up a separate "chongzhou city Experimental Middle School", and there is only one high school in Xiaodong Street.

As Chongzhou is the hardest hit area by the earthquake and the educational resources are integrated after the disaster, Lieutenant General Chongzhi No.1 will be moved to the south gate of chongzhou city (near Jinji Township) in 2009, and the school building in Xiaodong Street will be handed over to other schools for use.
