Return from Jizu Mountain

? I have heard the name of Jizushan for a long time, and finally I can come on a special day. Take a van from Binchuan County to Jizu Mountain, and the farmland covered with corn stretches for several kilometers along the way. Grapes in the corn field are in pieces, and fruit farmers are framing the harvested grapes for sale. On the grassy hillside, herds of cattle are grazing leisurely, and the wind blows by the car, blowing their hair. White clouds are scattered on the blue sky. Some people say that the scenery in Dali is good in March, so they miss March and catch up with August. At this time, after half an hour's driving, the mountains are in sight. The endless mountains and rivers are green. Shiny houses scattered at the foot of the mountain. Houses scattered halfway up the mountain sometimes show the whole picture and sometimes part of it. If it is looming, I think this is probably Jizushan. After a while, the driver took us to the entrance of the mountain. After buying the tickets, we continued to climb the mountain. The mountain road is winding and the pines are bursting. I don't know how many turns I have made or how many temples I have walked through. I finally got off halfway up the mountain and started my tour around the mountain with the map on my ticket.

There are three ways to climb the mountain, riding, riding and walking. I chose to walk. Walking is the best time and place. After walking for a while, I was attracted by the word Daixueyuan on the map and looked for it alone in the general direction. It is difficult to find a place that looks very close on the map on the mountain road that deviates from the main line. When I hesitated, I came face to face and stopped to ask. It turns out that the Academy is at the bottom of the road, downhill, with flowing water in the ravine, and on one side is the mountain gate of the Academy. Into the archway, climbed the stairs, and soon came to a high platform. The word "Virtual Cloud Temple" is golden and pasted on the door, and a couplet stands on both sides of the doorpost. There are some bonsai in front of the door, which are full of vitality. I didn't want to worship Buddha, so I wandered around the temple. There's no one in the yard except an aunt who cooks and a monk on duty. It's quite good, so you can stroll around calmly. Approaching the Hall of the Great Hero, a pair of shoes were neatly placed by the door, and there were bursts of chanting. I entered the door and stood silently in front of the Buddha for a while. The voice of chanting dropped, and then it became silent. I looked at the Buddha statue and the buildings hanging on the beams, and suddenly I wanted to talk to the female bodhisattva. Mindful of the solemnity of the Buddhist temple, the female bodhisattva was studying hard, and it was inconvenient to ask questions, so she came out timidly. Out of the Ursa Major Hall, we soon arrived at the innermost hall of the temple, where there was only one statue. So this is the legendary monk Xu Yun Zen Master. This temple is dedicated to his memory. There is a small showcase on the right, which contains the collected works of Zen master's lectures. In the corner, there is a pile of books on the table, written by Master Wei Sheng, a disciple of the Zen master. I took one, quickly glanced at the photo on the wall, and walked out of the temple quickly. Outside the mountain gate, I looked back and saw the sun shining on the golden glazed tiles of Maitreya Hall. It was so beautiful that I was inexplicably moved, perhaps for the light and the scene, perhaps for the purity of this temple. I took out my mobile phone to take pictures, and suddenly I couldn't do it. I didn't respond for a long time. It suddenly dawned on me that maybe this trip should be felt with your heart, not with your eyes, and you should experience it with your heart, not with your camera, because many places may go once for a long time, and many photos have been ignored in the computer for a long time except for friends.

On the way to the Jade Emperor Pavilion, I met a mother and daughter, a daughter in her early forties and an old man in her sixties and seventies. The old man walked on countless mountain roads with bright eyes. I slowed down and praised the old man for his strong body. The old man said with a smile that he started at the foot of the mountain at eight o'clock in the morning and has been walking until now, and now he is only halfway there. The ancient cloud is old and brave, but now seeing is believing, which is right and which is wrong! Think about Mr Humboldt's scientific expedition to Russia 60 years ago, from Moscow to Urals, and then eastward to Siberia. Despite the official support, it was not an easy task to complete such a long trip at that age under the material conditions at that time. With this in mind, my confidence is greatly increased, my legs and feet are light, my whole body is full of strength, and I feel quite heroic, as if the road ahead is not so bumpy.

Coming out of Huang Yu Pavilion, we are faced with two choices, either going up the mountain by cable car or walking up the mountain to evaluate the future. The cable car here means that the road ahead is destined to be more difficult. I walked on the path without thinking, and the figure of the old man appeared in front of my eyes. The road ahead is not Ma Pingchuan, but it is not timid. If I want to go, I will finish what I started. Soon, I arrived at a mountain depression, with a cool breeze and a chill air. The temperature seems to be lower than other places. Seeing a man and a woman walking down the hill, I confirmed the way to the other side. The woman kindly reminded me that it was going to rain and hurried down the mountain. Looking up, dark clouds are surging in the sky, and the sky is dark, which is a sign of rain! I answered, and I looked forward again and left in a hurry. I thought, the worst thing is to be trapped in Shan Ye, stay in a temple, and find an old monk to talk around the stove at night and invite him to give a lecture. Isn't that different karma? Very kind, very kind, before you know it, you reach the most difficult step on the mountain, which is the lower step of Ye Jia Temple. It is estimated that there are five or six hundred steps, and no one has crossed the level. You have to wait for someone to conquer, or you have to persuade people to give up automatically. I didn't think much. Let's go. The mountain is right there. My calf trembled for a while, and I quietly reached the top of the steps. Looking up, the situation remains the same, but the sky is a little clearer. I can't see that it will rain, and I can't see that it won't rain. The situation is unpredictable. Generally speaking, looking back, although there are many steps, it is only a short section of the long mountain road.

? Dozens of meters ahead, one person in front, kowtowing in three steps and one mountain. Looking intently, I saw him wearing a gray suit, with a large piece of yellow cloth on his sleeve and back, a cloth bag on his arm and a pair of liberation shoes at his feet. I used to know that the worshippers in Tibet were all in books or on TV, but now they really appear in front of me, which is incredible and full of shock. When I passed him, I said hello to Master, and he replied Amitabha. Then he asked me how to get to Kunming, and then he said the fare was too expensive. While answering his question, I looked at him and saw that the fingertips and roots of his five fingers and the muscles on the outside of his palm were covered with calluses, his forehead was covered with dust, and his skin color was completely different from other parts of his face. Pilgrimage is really unusual. ? When I went to Ye Jia Temple, a female bodhisattva bowed down on the steps step by step. What a steep step! My heart was shocked, and I passed her quickly and gently. Legend has it that Jizu Mountain is a highly respected Dojo in Ye Jia. Dojo is very small. From the murals and colors on the wall to the furnishings in the courtyard to the interior layout, it looks antique and well-intentioned. It is much more attractive and historic than the newly renovated temples encountered along the way. When I came out of Ye Jia Temple, I happened to meet a monk. He had just paid his respects, said hello in a hurry and said goodbye.

Out of the Ye Jia Temple, pedestrians on the road gradually increased. There used to be few people along the way, thinking that no one walked to climb the mountain, but now I know that someone has walked in front. Near the bronze Buddhist temple, a cliff is almost upright, very steep and spectacular. Time has changed the appearance of the rock wall. Its face is gloomy and matches the color of the sky.

After climbing a long winding step, Jinding Temple arrived. Many people gathered at the top of the mountain. Some people look down the hill with great interest, some people turn the tower together, some people worship Buddha and make a wish, some people look at the decoration of the pagoda, some people draw lots to tell their fortune, and some people rest and watch the excitement. In an instant, an idea came out-we are all ordinary people, and the temple is the middle zone connecting the world and the paradise, and the transitional zone between man and Buddha. It has both a Buddhist side and a human side. In history, Buddhism has its prosperity and its decline, and countless monks with noble morality have emerged, as well as many monks with moral corruption. They are not harsh on people and monks, and everyone has converted to Buddhism. Standing in front of the Buddha is like standing in front of the mirror, and all you see is yourself. Those portraits, statues, gilded towers, release ponds … which one is not hiding your shadow? What you want, what the Buddha gave you, is actually not given to you by the Buddha, but by you through the Buddha's hand, isn't it? You cry, you laugh, you worry, you are afraid …, the Buddha is all in his eyes, he is there, silent, silent, so silent for thousands of years, don't bow down to Lhasa like them! So, if you claim to believe in Pure Land Sect, I'd rather believe it. At this point, you just say amitabha and give people a smile.

? On the way down the mountain, I once again met a devout mage and bowed down. Maybe this is fate. I asked him to write a few words in Zen Heart, but he declined because of his poor handwriting. So I asked him to help me answer some questions. He sat down on the spot and I sat on the side of the road. At this time, the female bodhisattva who had just bowed down came to the front. The mage said to the female bodhisattva, you don't have to work so hard. The bodhisattva replied, the master said I don't have to bow down to the mountain like this. The Bodhisattva came over and took out a fruit from her pocket and presented it to the mage. The mage declined and said, you have worked hard. Eat. The bodhisattva holds the fruit in both hands and insists on giving it to the mage. The mage no longer shirked, even said it twice, and was happy with this joy, so he accepted the fruit. The Bodhisattva sat respectfully cross-legged, his hands forming handprints between his legs. The mage asked the Bodhisattva about her study, and then read two verses for her. The mage went on to talk about the grand occasion of the Dharma meeting held by the monk Dade in Tibet and some incredible natural phenomena. It seems that similar things always happen when celebrities appear. For example, Master Xuanzang went west to learn from the scriptures and almost died of thirst in the desert. In an emergency, he recited the Buddha's blessing and was saved by the heavy rain. For example, during World War II, Japanese planes bombed Nanhua Temple, and Master Xu Yun meditated and blessed Buddha in the Hall of Ursa Major. Sure enough, when the wind blows, the bomb deviates from the target, and then. The Japanese plane fled in a panic. These things are no different from some descriptions in the novel. For example, in Romance of the Three Kingdoms, when some important people were born or died, the sky was abnormal. Is this kind of thing true, inevitable or coincidental? I saw the sad eyes of the Bodhisattva. I think she still has a long way to go, but I am worried that she has gone astray. There may be something wrong with her direction. It is wrong for her to focus on believing and praying.

? This is a rare opportunity. I asked the mage a few questions by the way. Q: How to avoid falling into anxiety in the face of problems that you can't solve but have to solve or face? Answer: Seek external help, and give up if you can't solve it. Q: How to control your temper, especially when faced with very angry things? Answer: Normal mind is right. Q: How to avoid falling into a dispute between right and wrong? The mage didn't answer directly, just said to be quick. You can talk to him if you are interested. For me, this is impossible. We get up almost at the same time. He went on a pilgrimage and I went down the mountain. At that time, I thought that when the mage answered these three questions, he should also give some money and an apple. Intentionally or unintentionally, an opportunity for charity passed by. There are many things in life, is it fate that has not arrived, or are we not persistent enough?

? On the way down the mountain, I met a pair of old monks and nuns walking together. The old monk quickly went down the mountain, leaving him behind, complaining from time to time that his legs and feet were too slow. The old monk speaks with a northern accent, which makes me curious. At the crossroads leading to Ye Jia Temple, the old monk stopped to have a rest. After greeting, I asked the master where he was from. The old monk laughed and forgot. I was stunned and didn't know what to say. The old monk sat on the railing, his face was deeply furrowed, and his hair was gradually stained with autumn frost. With a word and a smile, he showed that a white tooth was missing in the lower row, and his kind eyes were fixed on the old man who went down the mountain, and his mouth murmured something to her. After bidding farewell to the old monk, I hurried down the mountain. The appearance of the old monk has always appeared in my heart, which is probably that I am free and open-minded, which is probably what the Diamond Sutra said. There are flowers in spring, the moon in autumn, cool breeze in summer and snow in winter. If you don't mind your own business, this is a good time on earth. For the old monk, when is not a good season, where is not a good scenery, and what is not a happy thing.

Almost trotted all the way, and soon reached the mountainside when going up the mountain. At this point, the big bottle of mineral water has dried up, the clothes are soaked, and my legs are too heavy to walk any further. On the map, the name of Zhu Sheng Temple attracted me, so I decided to have a look. Wandering around, I met a middle-aged monk and chatted after the ceremony. I first asked the meaning of some propaganda words in the mage temple, then explained my learning experience, and finally asked the mage some questions. Q: How to avoid falling into anxiety in the face of problems that you can't solve but have to solve or face? Answer: (I forgot the answer). Q: How to control your temper, especially when faced with very angry things? Answer: Think backwards and overcome it with compassion. Q: Sometimes you will insist on the dispute between right and wrong. How to solve them? Answer: Everyone has different experiences, different situations and different understandings. We should stay away from the debate about right and wrong and learn to let go. Q: Do you observe the rule of not eating after noon? Answer: It depends on your physical condition. Q: How did Dharma face loneliness and overcome his desire to express himself after ten years? A: The realm is very high, and it has its own solution, which is immeasurable. Q: People are lazy and slack. How can they make progress? Answer: Rest when you are tired, and don't force it. Q: Do you belong to Southern Buddhism? A: Buddhist colleges have public courses and self-study parts, and everyone does it differently. Q: The Honourable Ye Jia has never been to Jizu Mountain. How can he say this is Ye Jia Dojo? This is the case in many places. Answer: the body has not arrived, but the soul has arrived. Q: The law of origin and the law of cause and effect are the two theoretical foundations of Buddhism and the axioms in Buddhist theory. Others are inferences, all based on these two theories. Buddhism is a religion of practice, and the key is to do it. The mage laughed without a word.

On the way back to the city, the driver talked about several regrets in his life: 1, he didn't have the courage to run a waterworks in 2000. There are endless springs in the mountains, and no one cares who occupies them. A Hong Kong pilgrim is willing to provide equipment for free. He just needs to raise money to build a factory. But at that time, people drank mountain spring water and well water at home. Who will pay for water to drink? In retrospect, he was not as safe as a sports car. About two thousand years ago, a famous singer held a concert in Jizu Mountain, and hundreds of thousands of people flocked to the mountain. When they went down the mountain, everything on the mountain was sold out, and many people were trapped halfway and couldn't get down. On that day, sports car runners and small businesses are said to have made a lot of money. He had an appointment to pick up passengers the day before, and his schedule was so full that he didn't have time to run this line at all. Otherwise, how much will it cost to pull a load of water and instant noodles up the mountain? At that time, there was a sleeper bus from other places to grab business, and 50 yuan was alone. The car is full of 100 people, and the traffic police turn a blind eye. Just evacuate the crowd quickly and drive safely. I haven't learned a driver's license. How easy and cheap it was to learn to drive at that time. Now that you are old, you have to learn from scratch if you want to learn. How can I have so much time and money? Several times, my friend introduced me to drive a big car, but I can't run without a license. I regret it. I didn't learn more technology when I was young, so I didn't feel overwhelmed. Otherwise, I'll drive a broken car at my age. Life, this is life. The driver sighed again and again.

After coming back from Jizu Mountain, I watched The Footprints of the Old Monk in the Virtual Cloud. The deeds of the old monk are admirable. When reading a book, I accidentally learned about Master Xuecheng, and I couldn't help sighing. If you have the determination and will to learn Buddhism, why not become a monk? If not, can you learn geometry when you become a monk? Being a monk or at home, after all, we are not isolated from the world. After all, we are human beings. How can we pursue an identity out of the world? Trouble is bodhi, the world is bodhi, and the present is bodhi.
