In this temple in Anhui, there is a "Three Wonders Monument", which is the work of Li Bai, Wu Daozi and Yan Zhenqing.

There are three famous mountains in Anhui, namely Huangshan Mountain, Jiuhua Mountain and Tianzhu Mountain. Among them, Tianzhu Mountain has a profound historical background and beautiful scenery. As early as the period of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, it was named "Nanyue", so there are many tourists visiting Tianzhu Mountain. However, when many people visit Tianzhu Mountain, they mostly ignore one place, that is, Sanzu Temple on Fenghuang Mountain at the southern foot of Tianzhu Mountain. This temple has a long history. It is the sacred temple of Zen and is known as "Zhou Nan Zen".

Sanzu Temple, located in Qianshan County, Anqing City, was built in the period of Liang Wudi in the Southern and Northern Dynasties (AD 505) and has a history of 1500 years. It was built by Bao Zhi, a Buddhist master in Liang Wudi at that time, and Liang Wudi named it "Valley Temple" himself. According to legend, a wandering Taoist took a fancy to this place at that time, but one mountain can't accommodate two tigers, so Liang Wudi decided to let them fight, and whoever can get it will get it. Taoist Yunhe turned the dust in his hand into a white crane. When Master Bao Zhi saw it, he turned Zhang Xi into a silver dragon. The white crane was frightened by the silver dragon and landed on Bailu Port. Finally, the temple was built, and the Taoist priest built the White Crane View in Bailugang. Zhuoxijing behind the temple is said to be the place where Master Bao Zhi fought at that time.

Sanzu Temple was not built by Sanzu Sencan, the third ancestor of Zen Buddhism. This name is because in the 10th year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (AD 590), Sanzu came here to preach, and was later named "Sanzu Valley Gan Yuan Temple" by Tang Suzong Hengli, hence the name "Sanzu Temple". Tianbao 14 year (AD 755), when Li Bai, Yan Zhenqing and Wu Daozi were together. Wu Daozi painted A Portrait to the Public, Li Bai wrote A Picture to the Public, and Yan Zhenqing wrote it, which was later engraved on the stone tablet. This is the "Three Monuments". Unfortunately, this original monument has long since disappeared in the long river of history, and what is left in the temple is a rubbings.

On the other hand, beside a stream under Sanzu Temple, there are more than 300 cliff carvings more than 500 meters away. From the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Republic of China 1200 years, many literati came here to leave inscriptions, among which Wang Anshi, Su Dongpo and Huang Tingjian were famous. Their calligraphy is different, with poems and essays.

Nowadays, the buildings of Sanzu Temple are mostly rebuilt. They are built on the mountain, and the gate is a pavilion-like building at the foot of the mountain. The three doors stand side by side, representing "liberation", "wisdom" and "diligence" from east to west. The Gan Yuan Temple written above the main lintel is also another name of Sanzu Temple, with "Hum" and "Ha" on both sides of the gate.

On the left side of the Hall of Great Heroes, you can go directly to Sanzu Cave, which is said to be the place where Sanzu faces the wall. I entered a small door, which is the famous Thousand Buddha Hall here. The whole hall of this hall is made of brick and wood, without a nail. There are thousands of small shrines on the wall of the main hall, in which thousands of small Buddha statues are enshrined, surrounding the Buddha statue of Pilu, forming a scene of "thousands of Buddha versus Pilu". Not far away, there is a five-story "Jueji Tower" dedicated to the relics of three ancestors. The most unique thing is that there are hundreds of wind chimes tied to the tower. Whenever the wind blows, the bells jingle, which is very interesting.

Although Sanzu Temple is a certain distance from Tianzhu Mountain scenery, it is also very convenient to go. It's not famous here, and there are few tourists. If you don't like crowded attractions, Sanzu Temple is a good choice. It is also very good to come here to see these literati Mo Bao and listen to the long Zen sounds. Moreover, it is one of the six ancestors of Zen Buddhism, and the ticket is only 10 yuan, which is a bright pearl in the tourist landscape of southwest Anhui.
