Luyi County, Henan Province.

Taiqing Palace in Lu Yi is located in Taiqing Palace Town, Luyi County, and is the birthplace of Laozi. According to historical records, in the eighth year of Yan Xi in the Eastern Han Dynasty (165), it was built by Guan Shiba, the president of Liu Zhi, Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, formerly known as Laozi Temple.

In the third year of Wude in Tang Gaozu (620), in order to rule the world and improve his family status, Li Yuan listened to Ji's advice and recognized Laozi as his ancestor. He sent someone to expand the Laozi Temple in the Han Dynasty, and the scale was called Taiqing Palace.

Taiqing Palace introduced:

The former palace is dedicated to Laozi, and the latter to Li Mu. There is a river and a bridge between the two palaces. This river is called "Jinshui" and this bridge is called "Huixian". The two palaces cover an area of 872 mu and have more than 600 buildings of various types. The halls are dotted with pavilions, which are extremely prosperous. The "Qiangong" is centered on the Taiji Hall, with Laozi Niuchang site in the east and Yinyang Mountain site in the west, among which Jiubu Well still exists.

There is a statue of Laozi in the main hall, and an iron column with a height of about 1.5 m and a diameter of about 25 cm stands beside the hall, which is called "Mountain Whip", which is actually a symbol of Laozi's post "History under the Column".
