Activities of Taiping Army

Taiping Army's Northern Expedition/KOOC-0/85/KOOC-0/year/KOOC-0/month/KOOC-0/day, and Hong Xiuquan (/KOOC-0/8/KOOC-0/4-/KOOC-0/864) was in Jintian, Guangxi. 1853, 19 In March, the Taiping Army occupied Nanjing and went to Beijing another day. Pai, Li and Ji led the northern expedition, all in Tianjin. 1In May, 853, the Northern Expeditionary Army set out from Yangzhou, passed through Anhui, Henan and other places, entered Zhili and approached Tianjin. Emperor Xianfeng declared martial law in the capital. In August, the Northern Expeditionary Army defeated Tianjin. 1March 855, Lin Fengxiang was captured in Lian Zhen. He died in Beijing on April 3rd. Li retreated to Fengguantun, Qiping, Shandong Province. After being captured, he was taken to Beijing and executed in June of A.D. 1 1. After the Second Opium War, the Qing government borrowed teachers from Britain and France to help suppress the Taiping Uprising. Yang Wei's rebellion and Shi Dakai's departure all happened in Taiping Tianhe. 1862, Zeng Guofan laid siege to the Taiping Army on the third road, and the main force attacked Tianjing from Anqing. 1June 3, 864, Hong Xiuquan died of illness.1July 9, Tianjing fell and Taiping Tian Kun fell.

The Taiping Army's Northern Expedition, Single Ride and Dragon Drive were elite troops, but they failed to continue to support them, and eventually the whole army was wiped out. The vast number of soldiers fought bravely, which shook the hearts of the Qing army, restrained a large number of Qing soldiers, and objectively supported the struggle between the Taiping Army in the south and the people in the north. 1852, Taiping Army entered Hunan. After the expansion of troops in southern Hunan, journey to the south was on a roll. In July, it has reached the south gate of Changsha. At this time, I encountered strong resistance from the Qing army stationed in Changsha. Since the Taiping Army entered Hunan, it did not encounter decent resistance from the Qing army, and the attack was quite smooth, so that it gradually despised the fighting capacity of the Qing army and thought it was vulnerable. At this point, Xiao Chaogui, the Queen Mother of the West, won Changsha easily. When attacking the gate of South Tianxin Pavilion in Changsha, the Qing army in China was killed by shelling. After that, the Qing army got Xiao Chaogui's body under Miaofeng, slaughtered it and burned it. This incident shocked the Taiping Army. After that, all Taiping troops besieged Changsha for several months.

At that time, after the Taiping Army expanded its troops in southern Hunan, there were tens of thousands of troops. In the case of repeated attacks on Changsha, the army's morale was exhausted, so it found a camp on the south side of the city. This place was chosen at the foot of Erhushan Mountain (now Erhushan Formation in Jinping Village). As for why the Taiping Army was stationed here at that time, there were three reasons:

First, at the foot of Erhu Mountain at that time, there was a well named Yujing. The water quality of this well is excellent, the taste is sweet, the water source is abundant, and the water level has not dropped in dry years. In addition, the name of this well caters to Hong Xiuquan's psychology of "being an emperor": drinking the water from this well is the royal family. So I decided to station here. This well is called Wangjiajing, which is located in Zhujiaqiao Formation in Jinping Village. It is still an important water source for local and surrounding people's production and life and agricultural irrigation, and is applying for protection of key cultural relics.

Second, to the north of Erhu Mountain, there are mountains and mountains, and the terrain is dangerous, forming a natural barrier, which can be attacked, retreated and defended. The strategic location of the camp is very superior. So put a yellow flag here to create momentum and boost morale, and all soldiers can rest here. At that time, the place where the yellow flag was inserted was the Huangqiling Formation in Jinping Village today.

Thirdly, according to legend, when the Taiping Army attacked Changsha at that time, a bronze bell in Nanjing suddenly stopped ringing for unknown reasons. Nanjing was the place that the Taiping Army wanted to capture, as the capital. In addition, this incident has repeatedly attacked Changsha. This incident caused extreme panic among the members of God, so astrologers and fortune tellers were invited to find out the reason. After a period of investigation and speculation, it is believed that the reason is that the Taiping Army attacked the local Lion Mountain in Changsha (now Simentang Formation in Jinping Village). Why is it related to this mountain? According to the local old man, there used to be a temple named Sek-au Chan on this mountain, and there was an ancient tomb next to it. When the Taiping Army passed by here at that time, it did not go up the mountain to worship according to local customs, which violated the rules. Shi Dakai, the king of Wings, was furious when he heard this: Taiping Tian named my Shi Dakai five thousand years old. Sek-au Chan is jealous of me, Shi Dakai. I have no reason to worship you. He ordered his men to destroy Sek-au Chan and the ancient tomb. Stationed here.

After that, the Taiping Army attacked Changsha for several months and took Ningxiang. In the 11th year of Xianfeng (186 1), on October 20th, the Taiping Army was led by Huang Laichang, a rebel of the 18th Bureau of the local government, and took command of the city to conquer Yuyao. Geng Tianyi and Ruan Shizhen are in charge of the county government. Take out everyone's savings and set up township officials all over the country. Officials include supervisors, divisions, divisions, Sima, and viceroy, and set up famous brands. Farmers from all villages joined the Taiping Army in succession. Only 70% of the young and middle-aged people in Anshanqiao Village participated.

1On October 27th, Ya Zhi, the consular representatives of Britain, the United States and France in Ningbo, went to Yao and other places to negotiate on the protection of foreigners after Taiping Army entered Ningbo. Huang agreed not to help the Qing army.

In the first year of Tongzhi (1862), on April 22nd (May 22nd of Gregorian calendar), Fan Ruzeng and Huang Chengzhong of Taiping Army retreated to Yuyao from Ningbo, built fortifications in the suburbs, dug tunnels, and arranged wooden stakes at the water pass to prepare for battle. Daotai Zhang Jingqu led Yuyao Huangtouyong, Cixi Baitouyong, and former Zhejiang Prefect Chen led the Qing army to attack the city twice, all of which were repelled. On July 7th (August 2nd in Gregorian calendar), British generals often came to Ningbo. He Changjie attacked Yuyao. Be repelled by Taiping Army. The next day, Derleder, the company commander of the British Navy, and Le Bole Dong, the deputy commander of the French Navy, and Chang Jie's military command were in line with Japan's, and Zhang Jingqu, the street sweeper, led the troops to attack again. The warships sailed straight to the wall and bombarded, and the Taiping Army bravely met the enemy and fought fiercely all day. The county fell, Huang Chengzhong retreated to Shangyu, and Fan Ruzeng retreated to Mazhu.
