29 kilometers away from Guiyang, where is the Millennium Temple in Guizhou, which is beautifully built and super suitable for going to road trip?
In many cities in China, you can see the appearance of ancient towns or ancient cities, but these places once again give tourists many options when choosing their destinations. Going to these places with ancient Chinese characters will make your heart more comfortable and have a feeling of escaping from the bustling city and wanting to fly happily. There is an ancient temple in Guizhou, only 29 kilometers away from Guiyang. It's perfect for going to road trip. It turns out that this temple is the Xiang Ying Temple located in Qingyan Town, Huaxi District, Guiyang City. The temple can be traced back to 162 1 year and was founded by Master Zhi 'an.
Later, after five years of Qing Daoguang, it was rebuilt again. Today, visitors to the temple can see that the temple is triple, its architecture is very beautiful, and it also shows a full ancient charm. The foremost building is a two-story building. The upper floor is Lingguan Hall, and the lower floor is Maitreya Hall. Behind Maitreya, you can see the Wei Tuo Bodhisattva. On the second floor is Daxiong Hall, as well as Pharmacist Hall, Guanyin Hall and Dizang Hall. The name of Xiang Ying Temple refers to welcoming good luck. The building area of the temple is about 3500 square meters, and the building structure is very clear. According to the buildings inside, it can be seen that the China characteristics of the temple are very obvious.
According to the information recorded in Historical Records, Akamatsu was the founder of Hongfu Temple. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi, a scholar went home to visit relatives and was heard by monk Akamatsu. Later, he specially invited the scholar to preface the Buddhist literature he wrote in Qianling Mountain. Since then, Xiang Ying Temple has been called Qian Shan Ancestral Temple. Every year, Xiang Ying Temple holds lively Buddhist activities. In addition to daily chanting, you can also see activities such as offering sacrifices to heaven and releasing people.
Careful visitors will find that Maitreya in other temples and Wei Tuo Bodhisattva are separated by a screen, but visitors to Xiang Ying Temple will find that they are presented back to back. The Buddha of Sakyamuni is enshrined in the Hall of Mahatma. On both sides of the Hall, there are two bodhisattvas, Pu Xian and Manjusri, and eighteen arhats with different postures are guarding them. Behind the Hall of Great Heroes is the Hall of Great Compassion dedicated to Guanyin Bodhisattva, and on both sides are the blessed man and the dragon woman. The ancestral hall is on the left side of the Great Compassion Hall, dedicated to Master Zhi 'an.
According to local people, when the Xiang Ying Temple was built, rich people jointly invested to build a small attic not far from the temple, which was dedicated to the Taoist god Doum, making the local people mistakenly think that it was Doum Pavilion Taoist Temple. After that, people deliberately moved the statue of Dum here and offered it together. In fact, the word bad luck has a profound meaning. Doom refers to the big dipper, and Doom means mother. In the Taoist scriptures, it means the mother of the big dipper stars.
It is reported that Dom gave birth to nine children. When the children grew up, the eldest became the emperor, the second became the emperor of Wei Zi, and the other seven children became the Big Dipper. At present, there are more than 20 pagodas in Xiang Ying Temple, and the pagodas of Kaishan and An Zhi can also be seen outside Qingyan Town. Although the stupa was destroyed, the historical sites still exist, but unfortunately it was destroyed by the weathering of its stones.
Although the reputation here is not very great, there are still many tourists visiting here. Have you ever heard of the Temple of Xiang Ying?
Hidden in the characteristic ancient town of Guizhou, the name implies auspiciousness, but it is full of national style and not popular.
