Donghe, the largest river in Baoshan Dam, runs through Banqiao from north to south. At the southern end of Donghe River, in the first year of Guangxu reign in Qing Dynasty, Beijin Bridge was renovated and converted into a pavilion, with weeping willows on both sides and smoke curling up. It was called "Beijin Ada" and the scenery was pleasant. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, the East River was wide, and pedestrians had to rely on "boating or wooden boats to ferry", hence the name "Meihua Gudu".
