When the name of Ma Shang Village is mentioned, locals and surrounding villagers will naturally think of Maxia Village, because the names of Ma Shang Village and Maxia Village are closely related, but Ma Shang Village and Maxia Village have legends of different dynasties and figures. First, according to legend, during the week of beheading, the horse was mounted and dismounted in the village, so the place where the horse was mounted was called "Ma Shang Village" and the place where the horse was dismounted was called "Dismounting Village". The second legend is that Zhao Yun dismounted in Xia Shang Village and Ma Xia Village during the Three Kingdoms. Others say that Qin Qiong or Wei Chijingde got off the horse in the Tang Dynasty; Others say that Zhao Kuangyin of the Song Dynasty camped in the northern double notch of the village, and later got up and got on the horse and named it; There are even legends such as "getting on and off here because of long hair (Tongzhi period of Qing Dynasty)".
Is that really the case? Then let's draw a conclusion based on the facts of the field trip.
According to the Records of Xiuwu County published in the 20th year of the Republic of China, there was a "Shennong Temple" in Ma Shang village in ancient times, but now there is no temple left, only an altar incense table engraved with a stone Buddha pattern and the remaining brick and tile remains. Judging from the cultural relics left behind, the temple was built from the Song Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty, but the bricks excavated from the ruins of the ancient temple are indeed relics of the Tang and Song Dynasties. It can be seen that there were temples before Shennong Temple was built. According to Miao Xiuxian (73 years old) in the village, as far as I can remember, there are still stone Buddha statues in Shennong Temple, with clay sculptures in the middle and stone Buddha statues on both sides, which are called "Buddha Hall", as well as "Temple of the King of Yan", "Temple of Guan Ye" and "Temple of Children". There are east and west wings in the temple, outside the temple gate facing south, and there is a "Buddha Hall" in the east. In the Republic of China, after Feng Yuxiang's army entered Xiuwu County, he broke superstition and destroyed all the clay sculptures in the temple. At the beginning of 1938, the Japanese invaders destroyed the war zone with artillery fire and built eight turrets on the hillside near Ma Shang village to suppress the people. When the die-hard troops (reactionary Kuomintang troops) invaded our village, they tore down all the things and theaters in the temple and built a bunker. "
Shennong Temple in Ma Shang Village has been recorded in Qing Daoguang's Xiuwu County Records. According to the legend of "Tang Temple and Song Temple", Shennong Temple may have been built in the early Ming Dynasty. At the same time, it is recorded in detail in the preface of the genealogy of Xiuwu County annals in the 20th year of the Republic of China and the genealogy of Miao family in the 5th year of China: Miao is the earliest and most populous family in the village, and its ancestor Miao Rui moved from Handi Village in Shanxi during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1574- 1620). Based on this, it is speculated that the village existed in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty.
In the field investigation, it is found that at the eastern end of Ma Shang Village, there is a traffic mountain road leading to Taihang Mountain and entering the Jin Dynasty from ancient times to the present. This road goes four miles to the north to reach the Shanmen, and intersects with Majie Road on the east bank of Donghe River (Dongshanmen River) in the village. People call this mountain gate "Dongshan Gate" (the mountain pass at the northern end of Gangzhuang about 20 miles west of this mountain pass is called "Xishan Gate"). At the entrance of Dongshan Gate, there is a double groove carved in green stone, which is about five feet long, two feet wide and more than one foot deep (now destroyed). Originally, it was used to drink horses for knights who traveled inside and outside the mountain, so the "Dongshan Gate" was also called "Double Concave". Over time, pedestrians spread widely, so the reputation of "double notch" is very influential. At the same time, south of Nanjie East Road in the village, there is a stone carving horse about 2 feet long and 3 feet wide. According to 73-year-old Miao Xiuxian, "When I was 14 or 15 years old, I used to ride this small stone horse with my children. Until the land reform in 1950, this stone horse was still standing in this stone mill. " Miao Shiwen and Miao Li Huai, who live near Shima, have both seen Shima, but they disappeared after the land reform. It is estimated that the place where the stone horse was put was a deep pit. It is very likely that the stone horse is still buried in the deep pit, and no one has dug it today.
The discovery of this stone horse provides a new basis for investigating the origin of the village name. Now it can be judged that the original name of the village should be "Ma Village", hence the name Shima. Just as the entrance of Dongshan is named "double groove" because of the double groove of ancient bluestone, it cannot be ruled out whether the stone horse and stone groove were originally carved at the same time and located in one place. It's like there was a red lion in the northwest entrance of fengcun, Li (according to legend, the lion can cure evil spirits and change geomantic omen), and then it was named "Red Lion Mouth" (see Li Feng, the second episode of Jiaozuo Place Name Examination). Therefore, because of the stone horse, it is more reliable to name it "Macun". According to the Miao genealogy, there was Ma Shang Village in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, and the name of "Ma Village" should be before the early Ming Dynasty. There are two things that need to be explained here: Ma Zhong Village was called "Gutuo Village" in ancient times, and Maxia Village was called "Qianzhuang Village" in ancient times. After this field trip, these villages were all named before the Ming Dynasty. So, "Legend has it that featuring, zhaoyun, Qin Qiong, Wei Chijingde, Zhao Kuangyin, long hair, etc. dismounted here for a reason, but there is no evidence. Because, since the Northern Wei Dynasty, many temples have been built along the mountain in our city, so there are many myths and anecdotes.
Why on earth is it divided into Xia Shang Village and Ma Xia Village? According to field observation, Ma Shang Village is located at the southern foot of Taihang Mountain. The terrain of this village is much higher than that of Mazhong Village and Maxia Village. According to the custom, "go north and south" or go up and down the hillside. Therefore, it is concluded that this village is located at the northern end of the higher terrain, which is divided into upper, middle and lower according to geographical location, which is a reasonable and common phenomenon in place names.
Maliang Village is adjacent to Taihang Mountain in the north, with open plains in the east, west and south. It is not only a battleground for military strategists, but also a battlefield for livestock and war horses within dozens of miles of Fiona Fang. Therefore, the name of Maliang Village passed down from generation to generation by local people has evolved from "Liangmatai" to "Maliang". Although there is no written record, it has certain historical authenticity, because there are still many places in this generation. According to legend, when King Wu of Zhou cut Zhou, he once set up a bright horse platform in these places to review the cavalry, or to practice raising horses.
