Where is the Wild Emperor Dai Temple?

Huangtugang, Yedi Village, Nancun Town, Zezhou County, Shanxi Province

Ye Daidi Temple, also known as Dongyue Temple and commonly known as Nishioji, is located in Xitugang, Yedi Village, Nancun Town, Zezhou County.

Dai Temple can be traced back to the Song Dynasty at the latest. The earliest architectural remains in the temple are the stone foundation of the Song Dynasty, the lotus-covered column foundation and the stone pillars of the Apocalypse Hall in the main hall. The stone pillar is engraved with the inscription of Song Yuanfeng for three years (1080). Later dynasties such as Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing were repaired repeatedly, and finally formed the shape pattern we see today. According to the mountain, the temple is divided into upper and lower halls, which are strewn at random, quiet and elegant. From south to north along the central axis, there are mountain gate, fish marsh, bamboo garden, dance building and apocalypse hall in turn. There are Yuan Jun Temple, Land Temple, Wugu Temple, Insect King Temple, Niuwang Temple, Longwang Temple, Quick Report Secretary Temple and Guan Temple on both sides. There are clear springs and fish ponds in the lower hall of the temple.

The main hall, the Apocalypse Hall, also known as the Wuyue Hall, is located at the northernmost part of the central axis of Dai Temple, and it is the main hall dedicated to the Dongyue God of Mount Tai. The plane of the Apocalypse Hall is square, with three rooms wide and six rafters deep, and a corridor in front. In front of the temple, four square corner-sticking stone pillars and a one-meter square lotus cover pillar are relics of the Song Dynasty, and the pillars are engraved with the inscription of Song Yuanfeng for three years. The stone door frames in the Jin Dynasty are well-selected, and the lines are engraved with dragon, lion, chrysanthemum, lotus, peony, metaplasia boy and other patterns. The knife method is refined and the craft is exquisite. The original statue in the temple has long since disappeared, but the brick altar and the flower cover of the shrine are well preserved.
