If you don't do good, which celebrity will be a good doctor is a famous saying.

The original text is not a good doctor, but a good doctor. This famous saying comes from Fan Zhongyan.

According to the famous scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty, Volume XIII, Wen Willing to Be a Good Doctor, Fan Zhongyan, a famous Confucian scholar in the Song Dynasty, once went to the ancestral temple to ask if he could be a prime minister in the future, and signed his name to indicate that he could not. So he asked for another sign, praying that "if I can't be a prime minister, let me be a good doctor", but the result was still not good. So Fan Zhongyan sighed sadly: "A gentleman stands between heaven and earth and cannot benefit the people. How sad! " The fortune teller asked him strangely, "You just wanted to be a prime minister. Why did you suddenly become a doctor?" Fan Zhongyan replied: "In this world, only prime ministers and doctors can benefit the people best. Since you can't be a prime minister, the best choice is to be a medical student among the people and benefit the people. " After listening to this, the fortune teller sighed, "If you have this heart, you will definitely become a real prime minister in the future!"

According to legend, this is the origin of "not being a good doctor, but being a good doctor" in later generations. In the Qing Dynasty, Ruan Kuisheng's Tea Ke Hua and Huang Kaijun's Wandering Zhai Yi Dialect have similar records, but the words are slightly different.
