Brief introduction of dumbbell nebula

Dumbbell nebula is a planetary nebula located in Vulcan, also known as M27 or NGC 6853. Named for its appearance resembling a dumbbell. Dumbbell nebula is also the earliest planetary nebula discovered by human beings. It was discovered by French astronomer Charles Messier in 1764. The dumbbell nebula is about 1360 light years away from the earth, with an apparent magnitude of 7.5 and a diameter of about 8 minutes. Right ascension 19h59m36.379s, declination +22d43m 15.75s 1. For observers using small telescopes or binoculars, this may be the most ideal planetary nebula target. Dumbbell nebula is also a popular observation target for amateur astronomers.
