What is the function of Haiyang-1 1 D satellite?

The function of Haiyang-1 D satellite is to network with Haiyang-1 C satellite, which can fill the gap that China's ocean color satellites have no afternoon observation data, enrich the technical means of natural resources investigation and monitoring, and provide data support for the construction of a maritime power. Satellites can also be used in global climate change research, ecological civilization construction and other fields, serving the ecological environment, emergency management, agriculture and rural areas, meteorology, water conservancy and other industries.

At 2 am on June 1 1, 2020, China successfully launched the Haiyang-1 D satellite with the Long March II C carrier rocket at Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center.

This satellite is a marine operational satellite supported by the national medium-and long-term development plan for civil space infrastructure (20 15-2025). It will form China's first marine operational satellite constellation with the launched Haiyang-1 C satellite, and conduct networking observation in the morning and afternoon. Networking observation will become the "new normal" of marine operational satellites.

The Haiyang-1 D satellite and the Long March-2 C carrier rocket were jointly approved by the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance and the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau. The Ministry of Natural Resources is in charge of the construction of operational satellite projects, and the National Satellite Ocean Application Center of the Ministry of Natural Resources is the legal person of the project, responsible for satellite operation management, data reception, data processing, data archiving, distribution and application.

Satellites and rockets were developed by Aerospace Dongfanghong Satellite Co., Ltd. and the First Research Institute affiliated to the Fifth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. Subsequently, the National Satellite Ocean Application Center will carry out on-orbit satellite testing with the research units and users in the ecological environment, emergency management, agriculture and rural areas, meteorology, water conservancy and other industries to ensure that the satellite can be put into operation on time.
