Does the discovery of constellations have an effect on the development of mankind and astronomy?

Constellations have never been discovered and can only be defined.

Constellations artificially divide the sky into regions of different shapes and sizes.

Ancient China and the West had different ways to divide the sky. In the west, they are called constellations, and in China, they are called Star Wishes and Twenty-eight Nights. Then some bright stars are named to distinguish them. Modern astronomy adopts the western method of dividing the sky into 88 constellations, which is also adopted by China.

So there are Andromeda, Ursa major, Ophiuchus and so on. And there are corner beams, houses, hearts and fights.

The determination (not discovery) of constellations, star walls and 28 constellations has only one effect on astronomy, that is, it is convenient for people to locate a star for observation and research.
