GemEx System Inc, an American diamond optical testing organization, was established in 1998. It is the first institution in the world to conduct "optical" tests on precious stones with technology and instruments to evaluate the brilliance and flicker of diamonds, and its measuring mechanism has gradually become the standard for testing diamond optics in the industry.

In the classification standard of GemEx, the shining degree of a diamond depends on its ability to refract and reflect light, which is called "light regression" and is divided into "white light", "colored light" and "flash". The shape of the beam represents the average value in the database of 2 million diamonds, which is a very accurate data.

Each diamond is tested by the "shining mirror analyzer" developed by GemEx, and the data of diamond's response to light is tested by five different groups of light.

The flicker of three categories of diamond fire colors, white light, colored light and flickering, will be graded to truly and objectively reflect the true flicker of diamond fire colors. The flicker level ranges from Low, Medium, High to Very High. If the brightness of white light, colored light and flashing is high, it is called "high".
