What is a planetarium?

The planetarium of Guangxi Science and Technology Museum is the only planetarium in Guangxi at present, with a diameter of16m, which is the third largest planetarium in China after Beijing Planetarium and Tianjin Science and Technology Museum. The building part of the museum is a novel four-story building, the first to third floors are used for office, and the fourth floor is a hemispherical curtain. The outer layer of the ball curtain is sky-blue mosaic covered with reinforced concrete, and the inner layer is steel frame keel riveted with nearly a thousand rectangular FRP plates. In order to obtain better acoustic effect, holes with the diameter of 1mm are drilled on each FRP plate. White non-reflective latex paint is sprayed on the surface of FRP. The planetarium is equipped with the planetarium produced by Beijing Astronomical Instrument Development Center. Planetarium can do three-axis sports, high altitude and platform on Sunday. There are independent planetary apparent motion demonstration devices, which are located on both sides of the planetarium base. Auxiliary equipment includes directional lights, sunrise and sunset projectors, environmental projectors, zoom projectors, constellation graphic projectors, etc.
