Ren Jiang Cao Bin

Cao Bin was the founding star of the Northern Song Dynasty, and the late Guo Wei was his uncle and relative.

Although he was born well, Cao Bin didn't have the arrogance of powerful children. He is honest and keeps a low profile. He has played for Guo Wei, Chai Rong and Zhao Kuangyin, and won the trust of san huang.

Cao Bin is not good at pandering, but an honest and kind person. Zhao Kuangyin is in charge of the imperial army, and his position is very high, so many people curry favor with him. However, Cao Bin was unmoved. Without business, he never went to Zhao Kuangyin, and Cao Bin rarely attended the banquet hosted by Zhao Kuangyin. Later, when Zhao Kuangyin became emperor, he asked Cao Bin, "How much I wanted to be close to you before, why do you always alienate me?" Cao Bin kowtowed and apologized, saying, "I am a close relative of the royal family in the Later Zhou Dynasty, and I am always afraid of making mistakes. How dare I make friends with important officials? " Hearing this, Zhao Kuangyin felt that Cao Bin was a filial man and trusted him more.

Although King Cao is wussy, he is unambiguous in fighting. In 963 AD, Cao Bin defeated the Northern Han and Liao allied forces at the gates of Liaozhou, including 60,000 elite cavalry of the Liao State, who were known as "invincible in the battlefield". In 964, Cao Bin took part in the attack and extermination of Houshu, and in 974, Cao Bin led 100,000 amphibious troops to attack and annihilate Nantang, which made great contributions to the Northern Song Dynasty's unification war. But even the best hunters sometimes miss. In 986, he attacked Liao in three ways, and Cao Bin was appointed as the commander-in-chief of the East Route Army. He was forced to retreat because of his single-handedness and unfavorable logistics supply, and was defeated in the battle of Qigou Pass, which led to the rout of Song Jun and heavy casualties. This battle can be called "Waterloo" of Cao Bin.

Cao Bin is still too clever to be mistaken, and he is good at speculating people's hearts. After the capture of Jinling City, Li Yu, the queen of the Southern Tang Dynasty, took his ministers to the barracks to confess their crimes. Cao Bin politely comforted him, treated him as a VIP, invited Li Yu to change clothes in the palace, and only sent a few people outside the palace. Some subordinates are worried that Li Yu will commit suicide. Cao Bin said with a smile, "Li Yu has always been weak and indecisive. Since he surrendered, he will definitely not commit suicide. " Li Yu, as Cao Bin expected, became a good boy, was taken to the capital Tokyo by Song Jun, and finally died.

Before going to Nantang, Zhao Kuangyin publicly promised coach Cao Bin that as long as Nantang was settled, he would be appointed as a special envoy (with the title of Prime Minister, but without exercising the power of Prime Minister). On hearing this, Pan Mei, the deputy commander, and others congratulated Cao Bin in succession, but Cao Bin said, "I pacified the Southern Tang Dynasty by the strategy of Emperor Tianwei and the imperial court. What contribution can I make? Besides, the Northern Han Dynasty has not yet been settled. " After Cao Bin pacified Nantang and returned to Korea, Zhao Kuangyin said to him, "You were supposed to be appointed as the special envoy, but Liu Jiyuan (Emperor of the Northern Han Dynasty) has not been eliminated. Let's wait a little longer. " Hearing this, the Pan Mei and others all admire Cao Bin's accurate judgment.

Cao Bin has a kind heart and never kills innocent people. In the war of attacking Shu, the leader Wang Quanbin and others killed soldiers and robbed money, and the people in Shu were miserable. Cao Bin, on the other hand, strictly controlled his men and was welcomed by the people everywhere. Pacify the battle of Southern Tang Dynasty, and Cao Bin led an army to surround Jinling City. Instead of storming, he attacked for a while, hoping that Li Yu, the queen of the Southern Tang Dynasty, would surrender in Kaesong and rescue Jinling people from the suffering of swords and swords.

When Jinling City was about to be conquered, Cao Bin suddenly said that he was ill and could not raise money to deal with military affairs. When his generals heard about it, they all came to see him. Cao Bin took the opportunity to say to everyone, "My illness can't be cured by taking medicine. As long as everyone sincerely vows not to kill one person after taking Jinling City, my illness will automatically heal. " The generals understood Cao Bin's painstaking efforts and vowed to burn incense together. After the occupation of Jinling City, Cao Bin's soldiers did not commit crimes in autumn, and the people celebrated with their hands. As the saying goes, it is not good for a famous soldier to be ill and save countless people!
