Is the ancient map also facing north and south?

Most of the ancients existed in the north of the equator, and the north temperate zone was the birthplace of earth civilization, so the map orientation was generally similar. After the era of great navigation, Asia and Europe began to exchange civilizations, and geography represented by Ptolemy became the mainstream, but before Ptolemy, different civilizations did invariably take the north as the top.
