Clivia, a perennial herb of Clivia in Amaryllidaceae, is an ornamental flower, a famous greenhouse flower, suitable for indoor cultivation, and also a city flower in Changchun.

Main varieties:

Clivia pendulous, Clivia grandiflora, Clivia tenuifolia, Clivia petiolata, Clivia mirabilis and Clivia swamp.

Growing habits:

Clivia is native to the tropical region of southern Africa and grows under trees. It is afraid of both heat and cold, likes semi-cloudy and semi-humid environment, and is afraid of direct glare. The optimum growth temperature is 18-28℃, and the growth below 10℃ is inhibited above 30℃.

Maintenance method:

1. illumination: Clivia likes light, but can't stand direct sunlight. Just put it where there is scattered light. Shade is needed in summer, and it can be used in other seasons. Ensure 3~6 hours of mild light every day.

2. Temperature: Clivia is very delicate, afraid of heat and cold, and 18~28℃ is the best, otherwise it will affect the growth.

3. Moisture: The succulent root system of Clivia is afraid of waterlogging, and it is not easy to water it frequently. When it is dry, water it again. Suggested watering times: 2-3 days in summer 1 time, 5 days in spring and autumn 1 time, and winter 1 time (adjust the appropriate watering times according to the temperature and humidity of the cultivation environment, and observe the plant state and soil state at any time).

4. Fertilization: Clivia is generally fertilized during the growth period and bud pregnancy. When planting for the first time, it is necessary to sprinkle decomposed organic fertilizer on the bottom as base fertilizer. Fertilization can be applied 1 time per month in the growth period and 1 time per month in the initial flowering period. Generally, fertilization is not required.
