Tang Xizong was born in Xi 'an on May 8th, 1982. On his deathbed, Tang Yizong was made the Crown Prince with the support of eunuchs, and changed his name to Li Yi, who acceded to the throne before Tang Yizong died. At that time, on July 20th, the 14th year of Xian Tong (873), Tang Xizong was the youngest emperor in the whole Tang Dynasty. In the first year of Wende (888), he died in Chang 'an at the age of 27. After his death, posthumous title honored Gong Sheng as filial piety.
