New ultra-dense dwarfs (UCD)

A group of astronomers in Britain and Australia recently made an important discovery. They successfully found a particularly small galaxy in the constellation furnace. Dr. Steve Phillips from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and Dr. Mark Drinkuth from the University of Queensland in Australia made a detailed spectral study of the galaxy, and selected seven unusual celestial bodies at the same time. Originally, they were thought to be the stars of the Milky Way, but according to the observations of Dr. Phillips and Dr. Drinkuth, they should belong to a cluster of galaxies in the constellation Celestial Furnace.

The size of these celestial bodies is even significantly smaller than that of dwarf galaxies, so researchers mistakenly think that there is something wrong with their observations, or that the observed celestial bodies belong to unknown types of galaxies. After comparing their own research results in the same cosmic region with those of the European VLT telescope and the Hubble Space Telescope in Chile, the scientists concluded that the observed celestial bodies were actually galaxies.

These galaxies were once listed as new ultra-dense dwarfs-UCD. The mass of these galaxies is lighter than ordinary dwarf galaxies by 1 ~ 2, and their size can be completely placed between the solar system and Orion, that is, their diameter is about 500 light years. Most likely, these small galaxies were formed by ordinary dwarf galaxies, and the peripheral stars of dwarf galaxies captured the neighboring larger galaxies.
