Long constellation

At present, there are 88 known constellations, which are divided into Polaris and South Polaris. The longest and largest constellation is Ophiuchus and the smallest is Southern Cross. Most constellations are named after animals and mythical figures.

There are more constellations in the southern sky than in the north, and the sky is much brighter than in the north. There are abundant nebulae and clusters in the southern sky, including two Magellanic clouds, which are the two closest to our galaxy. For example, stars near the equator of the celestial sphere can be seen from both hemispheres at some time in a year, while stars near the celestial pole can never be observed from the opposite hemisphere.
