The history of Weinan

Weinan has a long history. From the Zhou and Qin Dynasties to the Han and Tang Dynasties, the twelve dynasties were all here. Agriculture, animal husbandry, handicrafts, commerce and transportation are relatively developed, forming many famous cities and ancient towns. After several generations of changes, by AD 1723, the Qing government had set up eight counties, one state and one hall in Weinan, which basically formed the outline of the present cities and counties. After the founding of New China, Weinan District and Dali District were established in the present Weinan District, and then Dali District was merged into Weinan District, and 1970 and 1994 were changed to Weinan District. On February 7th, Weinan was approved by the State Council to establish a prefecture-level city. This indicates that Weinan has entered a new period of development, which provides an opportunity for Weinan to accelerate the development of economic and social undertakings.
