Mount Hengshan is built on a huge granite. Due to the erosion and strong erosion of surface sediments, granite is exposed in a large area. Pegmatite granite is interspersed in Shi Ying vein, and its width varies greatly, reaching 40 cm, which can accelerate the weathering of granite. The laterite overlying the bedrock contains a lot of timely sand, which proves that it is formed by weathering granite. The rocks around granite can be divided into three types: Silurian purple shale and gravel quartzite, Devonian sandstone and shale, Tertiary red sandstone and shale. In terms of nature, gravelly quartzite is the hardest and purple shale is the softest, showing different topography on rocks in the same period. Due to the weather and climate, the weathering and erosion of running water, wind and heat have formed the unique landscape of modern Hengshan Mountain.

6. The northeastern part of Hengshan rock mass is porphyritic adamellite invaded for the first time, and the southwestern part of the rock mass is Baishifeng mica granite invaded for the second time. The former is distributed on the east side of the line from Nanyue Town to Zhurongfeng, with an exposed area of 2 17 km2 and isotopic ages of12,3187000 years, belonging to the early Yanshanian intrusive body. According to its lithology, rock structure and exposed position, it can be divided into two lithologic zones, namely gneiss porphyritic adamellite and porphyritic amphibole biotite adamellite in Zhurongfeng area, and a small amount of porphyritic biotite granite. The latter is distributed in the west of Wangfeng-Baishifeng, with an exposed area of 233 square kilometers and isotopic age of 80 12 10000, belonging to the second intrusion in the early Yanshan period. The eastern side of the rock mass is in intrusive contact with porphyritic adamellite, with clear contact surface and dip angle of 25-80. The southern and western parts of the rock mass contact with Lengjiaxi Group, forming a mixed rock zone. The rock mass can be divided into two parts, the main part is mica granite, and the marginal part is dark gray, gray and grayish white mixed rock with flaky and gneiss structure, producing potash feldspar, albite and kaolin.
