In ancient times, in order to facilitate navigation and observe astronomical phenomena, people connected the scattered stars in the sky through imagination. Half of them were named in ancient times, and their naming methods include myths and epics of Mesopotamia, Babylon, Egypt and Greece. The other half (mostly in the night sky in the southern hemisphere) was named only in modern times, and is often named after navigation instruments.

In ancient times, because of different regions, the way to see the starry sky was different! Now the world has unified the sky into 88 regions and 88 constellations according to the constellation map. The "constellation" we usually say refers to the "sun constellation"; That is, people on the earth are the center, and at the same time we can see which constellation the sun is in orbit (Greek zodiac: the circle made by animals, also known as the "zodiac"), so we can say what constellation that person is.

More than 2000 years ago, the Greek astronomer Hipparchus (190 ~ 120 BC) divided the ecliptic into 12 segments, which were divided into 0 in spring and counted from vernal equinox [1] (that is, the ecliptic was 0) with an interval of 30. Babies born when the earth moves to every bisector (constellation) will always have some similar characteristics when they grow up, including behavioral characteristics and personality characteristics. By connecting these associations (rich imagination and creativity) in series, these constellations are visualized; It also adds the color of myth and becomes an important part of culture (mainly Greek and Roman mythology).

This set of numerology has been developed and circulated for at least five thousand years, represented by these twelve constellations respectively. But these constellations do not represent a certain "star", but can only be regarded as "representative symbols of the same name".

Myths and legends of some constellations in 1988

1. Bojiangzuo

The playful Feden stole Helius's solar-powered car, causing a catastrophe on earth, was hit by Zeus and fell into the Bojiang River. Felden's sister turned into a willow by the river because of her sadness, and her tears turned into amber.

Sirius

In Greek mythology, Poseidon had a son named Aolaiwen. Oliver was born as tall and strong as his father. But he doesn't like living in the sea. Instead, he often comes to Shan Ye to climb mountains and hunt. However, he is Poseidon's son, so he can walk like a fly even at sea. Accompanied by him all day is a hound named Sirius, who is as brave as his master. He always rushes to the front when hunting and always stands in front of Aolaiwen when he meets wild animals.

After a long time, Aolaiwen often met the moon god and hunting goddess themis when hunting. The two were quickly attracted by each other's elegance and superb hunting skills. Later, they often walked in the mountains together, climbed cliffs and climbed dangerous peaks, and talked about everything.

All this made Apollo, the sun god, very angry. He knew Artemis was a stubborn girl, and persuasion would not impress her at all. Apollo was cruel and came up with a deadly trap.

One day, as usual, Aolaiwen "flew" at sea, ready to go ashore to hunt. His whole body is submerged except his head.

Sirius also won the sympathy of Zeus with his loyalty, ascended to heaven and continued to accompany his master. This is a dog.
