Constellation: In order to facilitate observation and memory, the ancients grouped the stars visible in the sky and named them according to their general shapes. Now they are called constellations.

Nowadays, the western constellation system is commonly used in astronomy, which divides the whole day into 88 constellations and names them after the characters and animals in Greek fairy tales.

Among the 88 constellations, there are 29 Polaris constellations, 47 Southern Constellations and 12 Zodiac Constellations.

The establishment of constellations provides convenience for observing the movements of the sun, moon and planets. Constellation, as a good reference, is very beneficial for people to observe the moon, planetary comets and so on. It is also convenient to describe the positions of all the stars in the celestial sphere and conduct extensive observation and research.

Galaxy: In astronomy, we call the Milky Way, a celestial system consisting of tens of billions of stars, interstellar gas and cosmic dust distributed among them, occupying a space distance of tens of billions of light years.

Galaxies also exist in pairs or groups. Our Milky Way and more than 30 galaxies around it form a group called the local galaxy cluster. Among them, the closest galaxies to the Milky Way are large magellanic cloud, small magellanic cloud and Andromeda, all of which are close neighbors of our Milky Way. At present, there are more than 1 10,000 known galaxy clusters.

So the fundamental difference between the two is that the constellation is the product of consciousness in human illusion.

Galaxies do exist.
