Did the earliest catalogues and maps come from China?

Recording the orientation and brightness of the stars in the sky becomes a catalog. If their position is marked on the map, it becomes a star map. Just as a traveler can't live without a map, a star map is an indispensable tool for astronomers.

About 2300 years ago, during the Warring States Period, Gander of Chu wrote eight volumes of astrology, and Shi Shen, an astronomer of Wei wrote eight volumes of astronomy. Later, some people called these two works Shi Gan astrology. This is the earliest catalogue in China and the earliest catalogue in the world. Shi Gan recorded 800 stars in astrology, of which 120 were marked.

/kloc-The star map drawn by Zhang Heng, an astronomer in the Eastern Han Dynasty more than 0/800 years ago, is recorded in the Book of the Tang Dynasty, but unfortunately the original map has not been handed down. Suzhou now preserves a star map of the Southern Song Dynasty (A.D. 1247), which is still the oldest star map in the world. This stone star map consists of upper and lower parts. The upper part is a circular all-sky map with a diameter of 91.5cm. The whole map is engraved with 1400 stars, as well as the galactic belt, celestial equator and ecliptic. The second half is written explanation, which briefly engraves the basic knowledge of astronomy. This precious material has been listed as one of the national key protected cultural relics.
