Born in Panyu, Lee Ka Chiu John, 1957 was born in Hongkong in February. He graduated from Sharay University in Australia with a master's degree in public policy and administration (MPPA). He used to be the Secretary for Security of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Deputy Director (Management) of the Hong Kong Police Force and the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Li Jia was appointed as a member of the National Security Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and chairman of the Candidate Qualification Committee of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. On May 20, 2022, the the State Council Plenary decided to appoint Li as the sixth chief executive of the People's Republic of China (PRC) (People's Republic of China (PRC)) Special Administrative Region, and he took office on July 1 2022.

Love music, 1980 married his wife Lin, and they have two sons, Li Wenjun.
