Which constellation is Altair in?

Altair is located in the constellation Eagle.

The official name of Altair in China is Hegu II. It and several other stars form a constellation, commonly known as the eagle. Altair is the alpha constellation of the eagle. Altair is a bright star slightly darker than Vega, located on the east bank of the Milky Way, also known as Altair.

In summer and autumn, Altair is one of the brightest stars in the sky. Its luminous ability is very strong, about 9 times that of the sun. Its whole body is silvery white, and its luminosity ranks 12 all day. Altair is the main sequence star in the spectrum of type A stars. Its mass is 1.7 times that of the sun, its diameter is 1.8 times that of the sun, its brightness is 10.6 times that of the sun, and its surface temperature is about 7000 degrees Celsius.

The Discovery History of Altair:

1978, scientists observed that Altair is a tetrad star with three companion stars. Its three companion stars are named WDS 19508+0852b, WDS 19508+0852b and WDS 19508+0852d respectively. However, it was later found that these three stars were probably unrelated stars near Altair, so it was still controversial.

These three stars may be red dwarfs or brown dwarfs. Now Altair has been identified as a single star, and there is no companion system. In addition, the apparent magnitudes of these three pseudo-Altair companions are all below 9, so it can be inferred that they are far from the sun.
