Hongta group 1956 started a business in Yuxi City, Yunnan Province, and has the reputation of "the land of clouds and smoke". Its predecessor was Yuxi tobacco redrying factory established in 1956. 1958, the first package of "Hongtashan" came out; 1959, expanded and renamed Yuxi cigarette factory; 1995, restructured into Yuxi Hongta Tobacco (Group) Co., Ltd.; In February 2005, it was renamed Hongta Tobacco (Group) Co., Ltd.
