Many princes and generals in ancient times were buried in Luoyang. Why is this happening?

Mangshan Mountain in Luoyang has buried thousands of princes and princes in the past dynasties, forming the largest ancient tomb site in China. Mausoleums, large and small, are "crowded" together, which the ancients called "the place where cows lie". However, almost none of these powerful people can enjoy the peace behind them. As long as the excavation and destruction of the ancient tomb, this underground treasure has already been "scarred".

In order to protect this "Oriental Pyramid", Luoyang recently passed the Regulations on the Protection of Mangshan Mausoleum, which will be implemented on March 1 next year. In line with this, Luoyang will also launch a series of protection and development plans.

Mangshan Mountain is located between Luoyang, Jin Meng and Yanshi, surrounded by mountains and waters, with an open terrain. According to reports, Mangshan area has gathered various types of ancient tombs from two weeks to the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Among them, Mangshan Mausoleum Group, as a national key cultural relics protection unit, is the main body of ancient tombs in Mangshan area, including tombs of the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, the Eastern Han Dynasty, Cao Wei and other six dynasties and their buried tombs, mainly some large earth-sealed tombs.

According to statistics, Mangshan Mausoleum Group covers an area of 756 square kilometers, spanning 7 districts and counties, including more than 20 townships, and there are about 200,000 people in the cultural relics protection area.

"If you ask about the rise and fall of ancient and modern times, please only look at Luoyang City." Sima Guang's poems tell the historical and cultural accumulation of Luoyang. Mangshan Mausoleum Group is the best "diary" in history. However, up to now, nearly two-thirds of the 972 large sealed tombs in Mangshan Mausoleum Group have been completely lost, with only 339 tombs left.

"In history, Mangshan Mausoleum suffered damage mainly from war and organized and large-scale looting. Dong Zhuo set fire to Luoyang City and dug many graves on Mangshan Mountain. Now archaeological excavations on Mangshan Mountain can sometimes find some red soil. " Yan Hui, director of the research office of Luoyang Second Cultural Relics Task Force, said.

At the same time, Luoyang, a battleground for military strategists since ancient times, was naturally coveted by warlords of all sizes for underground treasures, and organized or private grave robbing also left Mangshan Mausoleum Group-"Oriental Pyramid" scarred. "Ten tombs on Mangshan Mountain are empty" is an image description of the prosperity of tomb robbery in Mangshan Mountain, Luoyang.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Mangshan tomb robbery has been highly specialized and collectivized. In the meantime, a large number of cultural relics were lost overseas. From the founding of New China to the end of the Cultural Revolution, grave robbery was basically curbed. However, since the 1980s, driven by economic interests, Mangshan tomb-raiding activities have revived. The occupation and occupation of local residents' production and life also caused serious damage to them.
