As of July 2003, 29 landscapes in China have been included in the World Heritage List.

Cultural Heritage ***2 1: Beijing Forbidden City, Great Wall, Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, Qin Shihuang Mausoleum and Terracotta Warriors Pit, Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site, chengde mountain resort and its surrounding temples, Confucius Temple, Kong Lin, Wudang Mountain Ancient Buildings, Potala Palace in Tibet, Old Town of Lijiang, Pingyao Ancient City, Suzhou Classical Garden and Xidi Ancient Village in southern Anhui.

Natural Heritage ***4 places: Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Jiuzhaigou Scenic Area, Huanglong Scenic Area and Yunnan "Three Parallel Rivers" natural landscape.

Wuyishan Scenic Area, Taishan Scenic Area, Huangshan Scenic Area and Emeishan Leshan Giant Buddha are four natural and cultural heritages.
