Colin Egglesfield was born in Farmington Hills, Michigan. At the age of ten, his family moved to Crete, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), where his father continued his medical work and her mother opened a coffee shop next to high school. Colin was admitted to Illinois Wesleyan University. A year later, in order to get a medical degree, he moved to the University of Iowa and planned to take over his father's mantle. After getting his degree, Egglesfield took a trip, during which he met the famous photographer Bruce Weber and was introduced to Ralph Lauren, Versace and Calvin Klein as models. Soon, he wandered around the runway in Milan, new york and Paris, traveling around the world to take photos.
